Al Gore May Have No Friends, But He Made A Good Point

Al Gore made some very valid points in his documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", but it just wouldn't be my style to not to call him out and make fun of certain things. For instance, Gore is talking about the oil and fuel crisis, and he is flying on a private plane. The big thing i wanted to find out if his sources for his facts were legit. I mean, he made up Manbear-pig, so he could potentially do the same to cause another scare. So I did what I normally do... go on Wikipedia to dig up some info.
It turns out that his facts are legit. For example, he got the Keeling Curve, which measures CO2 from the Mauna Loa Observitory. He also obtained vital information from the Physics Institute at the University of Bern and the European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica.
Gore's own knowledge is creditable. At Harvard, he took a course with Professor Roger Revelle who was one of the first scientist to measure CO2 in the atmosphere. Gore also wrote a book about the subject, titleing it "Earth in the Balance".

So aparently I was wrong. Gore still may have no friends, but he has an Oscar, a National Board of Reveiw Award, and something really small called the Nobel Peace Prize.

The company Green Karat is taking recycled "precious metals" and making them into jewelry. They make it easy for you to pitch in; just take your old junky jewelry and send it in to help make the earth green.


For people to buy this, you'll have to break it down by class. Upper class and rappers like Diddy and Kanye probably wouldn't go near it because its not flashy or catchy. Middle class would buy it because its not as expensive as Tiffany's. I like it because unlike other jewelry refiners, this is for the environment, not for profit. The only problem is when you trade in your gold, you get credit for purchasing other gold that was made. Why trade in gold to buy other gold that I will not use... ever. Give me the cash!!!!!!!!

Shower In Your Suit To Conserve Money and Resources

Japan's Konaka has designed a suit that can be cleaned in the shower...while you take a shower. It is called (you guessed it) the Shower Clean Suit, and its goal is to reduce dry cleaning. It appears that dry cleaners use dangerous chemicals like perchloroethylene.


Japan has done it again. Way to come up with another outrageous invention that only you could have thought of. I thought it was weird when they came out with Godzilla and vending machienes that sell you batteries and underwear... but this is too weird. The only way this product is a success is financially... it can save me money. I understand what they are trying to do... make a cleaner earth, but there has got to be another way. Back to the drawing board.

Speaking of which... I wonder what they went back to before the drawing board was invented????

Nike is going eco friendly with their clothing and shoe designs. Nike has already been eco friendly by creating tracks that are made up of ground up tennis shoes. This time around, they are making cloths out of 100% organic cotton and 100% recylcled polyester.

Nike just got a lot cooler. The company has already been on top of the sporting world, but with this move, they are leaps and bounds ahead of the other sports companies. I don't know how well their shoes will be. I think they'll wither fall apart easier, or they will be very uncomfortable as shown on the picture in the link. The coolest thing is that even though their clothing will be switching to organic material, Nike will still be able to apply their "Dri-Fit" technology to their shirts and shorts. The pictures that are shown on the link are kind of an eyesore though (see the shoes). I expect this project to be perfected in a couple of years.

The article is about the clothing company Nau is back. They were forced to stop producing because of business difficulties.

I thought this article would tell me about the clothing line and what it would do to help the environment...but it was just an article saying that it was back. So I sought out to find what this company was all about, and here's what I came up with...
Nau's fabric deesigners work with their suppliers to create new, more sustainably produced fabric. Their goal is to produce high proformance clothes, while keeping it eco friendly. Out of the 28 fabrics that were created, 26 were made from scratch using the lightest weighted cotton to the heaviest wool. They do not pick their cotton that has been covered in pesticide, which is great because it will do wonders to nature, including preventing runoff into rivers. This company is revolutionary, and more should follow suit. It will create a cleaner planet, and from what the lazy environmentalists say, this stuff works well.

Europe’s Leadership in Carbon Control at Risk in Credit Crisis

European leaders want the trade bloc to go back on their word about a treaty creating devices to cut greenhouse emmisions due to the recent global recession. The treaty would call for windmills for solar energy, but under the most promising timelines, it would be hard for Europe to reach its goal by 2020.

Though it may be costly, Europe needs to pass this bill. It may cost money now, but in the long run, it will save people money, and it will save the earth, maybe even create jobs. Sometimes you need to spend money to earn money (pump priming). It also seems like Europe is divided. East Europe wants to wait, while West Europe wants to go through with the plan now. If this plan can cut greenhouse emissions by 20 percent, then I say go for it. People will only hurt themselves and furture generations.

This article is about the all new Volkswagen Jetta TDI and how it it is a diesel engine, and it goes 30% further on one gallon of gas than the average gasoline fueled car. The car gets 34 mpg in the city, and 44 mpg on the highway. It's diesel is also considered to be "clean diesel".

This car is absolutely awesome! It definitely blows the Toyota Pris out of the water. It gets 44 to the gallon and it costs just under 22,000 dollars; so it is environmentally sound and it saves me some money. One cool thing was that the car helped set a world record. A family drove over 2,700 miles across the U.S. averaging 58 mpg. Another intersting thing is that the computer screen that shows how much mpg you are averaging changes almost instantly based on how much horse power and rpm's are being put out. One downside is that the diesel engines are not able to be converted to bio-diesel like other VW's in the past. Other than that, great buy and better for the environment. Car companies should take note of VW.
