Mining group says EPA reviews could threaten coal jobs

The EPA declared that they will take a look at 150 to 200 mining applications. The reason is, is that the EPA wants to prevent the dumping of coal wastes in lakes and streams. The problem is, is that the EPA can threaten the jobs of 77,500 people.


There has to be a compromise here. We have to help protect the environment, but we also have to have jobs for people. Coal is the backbone on our nation, and we cannot turn our backs on them.
